It has been 8 years since I last visited Laos, the country in which I was born and lived for 7 years prior to moving to the US. In addition to seeing relatives and enjoying the progress being made here, the trip would include some humanitarian efforts and participation in some amazing historic events that are taking place around the banning of cluster munitions.

Our joyride around town (check out the video on our blog) in the Tapestry of Hope tuk tuk was my second favorite thing about it – we took the tuk tuk on the town to share the messages with Vientiane residents, making sure to take a ride around That Dam (a monument which happens to be right next to the U.S. Embassy).
